This is the form our Privacy Policy points to. You can use it whether you have a Booking Butler account or simply contacted a business that uses Booking Butler. Submitting a request costs nothing, and we will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower level of service for making one.
How we verify your request
We verify who you are before we act on a request. Acting on an unverified request is how one person gets handed another person’s data, so this step is not optional.
Verification usually means confirming that you control the email address or phone number the records are held under. We ask only for what we need to match you to those records. We will not ask you for a government ID, a Social Security number, or your account password, and you should never send them to us.
If you are an authorized agent making a request for someone else, we will ask for written proof of that authorization, and we may contact the person directly to confirm it.
How long it takes
We confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 calendar days. Where the law allows and the request is complex, we may extend once by a further 45 days, and we will tell you before we do.
Some information is kept even after a deletion request, where a law, a tax or accounting rule, or the defence of a legal claim requires it. What we keep and for how long is described in the retention section of the Privacy Policy.
If we say no
If we decline your request, we will tell you why. You may appeal that decision by replying to our response, or by emailing privacy@bookingbutler.ai with “Appeal” in the subject line. A person who was not involved in the original decision will review it and respond within 45 days with the outcome and the reasons for it.
If you are still not satisfied, you may complain to your state attorney general or your local data protection authority. We will tell you how to do that when we respond to your appeal.
